Conveyor Belt Recycling and Demolition Shear
for Large Wheel Loaders

FROM THIS ... TO THIS!

TURNS MILES OF CONVEYOR BELT
INTO MANAGABLE MATERIAL

  • Dymax Conveyor Belt Shears offer a radical new approach to the disposal of miles of used conveyor belts plaguing mines of all types.
  • The Dymax Conveyor Belt Shear enables mining companies to productively rid themselves of worn out belts, as it shears through nearly 5 feet of steel reinforced belt in less than 30 seconds.
  • The shear features high alloy heat treated shear blades, identical to those found in the largest steel demolition shears. These are bolt-on, indexable cutting tools.
  • Other features include a feed roller to keep the belt moving "through" the shear and to reposition it for each shear bite.
  • Operation of the Dymax Conveyor Belt Shear requires only the wheel loader operator, providing significant labor savings over cutting the belts with hand tools.
  • The Dymax Conveyor Belt Shear also contributes to a safer work environment by mechanizing the belt cutting operation.
  • The Dymax Conveyor Belt Shear is ideal for use on wheel loaders ranging in size from 100 hp to 300 hp, and can be equipped to work with various manufacturers' quick couplers.

  • Shear blades are purchased from a well known supplier of steel shears to the demolition industry. They are made of high alloy, heat treated steel.
  • Shear bite is 18" and takes less than 30 seconds to cut through a 54" belt in 3 to 4 bites.

How to operate the Dymax Conveyor Belt Shear

  1. Unroll belt to be sheared.
  2. Position loader perpendicular to belt, place nose below belt and lift belt 1 to 2 feet.
  3. Immediately move loader slowly forward, moving shear across the belt, effectively moving belt along top of nose and into the rollers.
  4. Once belt is at the roller, engage feed roller and pull the belt into the shear until it hits the fulcrum of the blade guide and blade itself. It may be necessary to move the loader forward as you are doing this in order to keep the belt as flat as possible across the shear.
  5. When belt is firmly in the shear, activate shear blade, and then repeat the process. Each bite of the shear will cut up to 18" of belt.
  6. When belt is completely sheared, reverse feed roller to assist in dislodging belt from shear.
